2018 Ford F-150’s Power Numbers Made Public

America’s favorite pickup truck will get a power bump for the upcoming model year, and today, we’re learning just how much. To be fair, the power and efficiency numbers for the 2018 Ford F-150’s turbodiesel V6 are still under wraps, but its lineup of V6 and V8 engines have had their figures made public.

Every engine, save for last year’s new twin-turbo V6, has gotten a power bump. In fact, the 3.3-liter naturally-aspirated V6 is entirely new, and gets 290 hp and 265 lb-ft of twist—a solid jump over the last base mill. Both the turbocharged V6 and V8 will get 400 lb-ft of torque, and standard ten-speed automatic transmissions. While those are impressive gains, we’re still eager to learn more about the turbodiesel to come next summer. When Ford unveiled the truck in January, they promised its towing, efficiency, and torque benchmarks would be pushed further. We’ll have to wait until those numbers are made public to see how far.

Those interested in the potent 2018 F-150 will also love its new looks and tech. To get the full skinny, watch the video above or contact us at our Ford dealership in Mission, TX to schedule a test drive.
