Ford's 2018 Mustang GT: Your Ticket to a Zero-to-60 Life

The 2018 Ford Mustang GT will be great at a lot of things. When you look at its spread of features though, the thumb that sticks out the sorest is easily its ability to go really fast, really quickly.

The Mustang GT has a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine. Rated for 460 horsepower, it can produce 420 pounds-feet of torque and 7,500 RPM. More importantly, it has tools that help it put all that power to its best use.

The GT's Drag Strip mode, for instance, is directly responsible for the GT's impressive four second zero-to-60 sprint. Drag Strip mode helps maintain torque while the automatic transmission shifts gears. This reduces acceleration loss so the car can pick up speed more quickly and with less interruption. The Mustang GT also has a six-speed manual transmission for those who prefer to do things themselves.
